GENERAL INTRODUCTION II:

• Recap of fundamentals (online quiz I)
• Elements of X-ray powder pattern, peak shape modelling, measuring strategies
  
  
• Extinction rules
• Excercise on simulating X-ray powder patterns

WEDNESDAY, 20.01.

HANDS-ON TRAINING AND PATTERN ANALYSIS I:

• Instrument introduction: optics, detectors, sample carriers, sample preparation, measuring
• Crystallographic databases: ICSD + ICDD-PDF
  
  
• Phase analysis of XRD powder pattern using Bruker-EVA

THURSDAY, 21.01.

HANDS-ON TRAINING AND PATTERN ANALYSIS II:

• Grazing incidence XRD
• Non-ambient X-ray diffraction (Anton Paar HTK 1200N)
• Automatic indexation (parallel session)
  
  
• LeBail refinement (whole powder pattern fitting) using Fullprof suite
  
  
• 5 p.m.: School get-together
