Institute Nanospectroscopy
Institute

The institute for Nanospectroscopy offers an interdisciplinary research program focused on the study of energy related materials using synchrotron-based nanospectroscopic techniques. We operate and continuously develop state-of-the-art scanning transmission x-ray microscopes (STXM) with dedicated sample environments for chemical and electrochemical energy materials.
In close collaboration with internal and external users of our two STXMs at BESSY II MAXYMUS and MYSTIIC, we develop and study energy materials for energy conversion and storage.
MYSTIIC is part of the large-scale Energy Materials In-situ Laboratory EMIL, a unique infrastructure for the design, preparation and characterization of energy materials, in particular with respect to catalysis, batteries, and photovoltaics.
