Scientific Advisory Council

The Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) advises the HZB on scientific and/or technological issues of basic importance for its future development. SAC members are to be non-affiliated to HZB by contract or intense collaboration. They are appointed by the Supervisory Board.

SAC advice is given in particular on issues concerning R&D-strategy and -planning of the centre, means to optimise the efficient use of the research facilities, collaboration with universities, other research institutions and international organisations, as well as on the evaluation of the scientific output. SAC reports to the Supervisory Board and the directors of the center.

The autumn meeting 2024 (31st meeting) will take place on 16 October 2024 at the LMC in Berlin-Wannsee.
