Excited State Dynamics with MHz optical excitation and Heisenberg RIXS

For photochemical kinetics and dynamics, we have developed highly efficient Near Edge X-ray Absorption Fine Structure Spectroscopy on Nanometer liquid sheets jets which are an integral part of the AXSYS project. In parallel, we have initiated and brought to full users operation the complementary push toward the transfer limit in time and energy with the “Heisenberg-RIXS facility for resonant inelastic X-ray scattering at the transform limit” at European XFEL. For that Helmholtz Funding and the ERC advanced grant of Alexander Föhlisch was essential.
