Within the Helmholtz Energy Materials Platform momentum-energy transfer resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (METRIXS) is the dedicated instrument to map out the potential energy surfaces for molecules and their reaction intermediates relevant for energy conversion and storage. METRIXS is optimized solely for this emerging field of molecular energy science. It currently is in commissioning to optimize grating performance and detector technology.
