Department Structure and Dynamics of Energy Materials

Continuously upgrading and constructing instruments at the research reactor BER II

Structure and Dynamics of Energy Materials: Neutron Scattering Instrumentation at BER II

The Department of Structure and Dynamics of Energy Materials (EM-ASD) contributes to the program "From Materials to Matter and Life" (MML), topic "Neutrons for Research on Condensed Matter" by operating, continuously upgrading and constructing  several instruments at the research reactor BER (LK II BER). The special expertise of the Department lies in powder diffraction with high resolution as well as single crystal Laue diffraction. Applying various sample environment equipments, parameterized experiments (in situ: temperature /gas atmosphere/magnetic field) with very short data acquisition times (few seconds) are possible.
