Long Night of the Sciences at HZB
2nd July 2022, 5 p.m. to 0 a.m., Adlershof site.
We open our doors for the Long Night of Science and give you exciting insights into our research. Embark on an exciting journey through modern research with many information booths. Our school lab invites children and young people to participate in hands-on experiments.
Don’t speak German? Although most of the events are in German, a few events are offered in English, so the Long Night of the Sciences is still worth a visit! Also rest assured that most scientists can converse in English and respond to questions fluently. This is particularly true of events with one-on-one exchange between scientists and visitors (for example, information booths and hands-on experiments). A variety of installations, live experiments, presentations and exhibitions are also enjoyable without any knowledge of German.
Please note: We require FFP2 masks indoors from the age of 14!
Tickets go on sale on 20th May 2022, and you can find all the info here (in German). There will be no box office anymore, as tickets can be purchased online, even on the day of the event. Tickets will also be available at Ticketmaster box offices. For more information, please see Ticketmaster's FAQs (in German).
The tickets for the Long Night of the Sciences are combination tickets for admission to the event and travel by public transport. They entitle the holder to attend all individual events at the participating science institutions and to use the special buses used for the event.

The family ticket is valid for joint attendance of events by adults and children, regardless of family ties. It is valid for a maximum of five people, including no more than two adults and at least one child.
Once again this year, family tickets purchased in advance or at the box office can be exchanged for single family tickets. The exchange takes place exclusively at the box office. This means that different individual events can be attended separately. The validity of the individual family tickets is the same as that of the family ticket.
5 Friends ticket
Valid for the joint event visit of 5 adults at the reduced promotional price of 59 EUR instead of 70 EUR. The individual tickets can be used to visit different individual events separately.
Student group ticket
During the online presale period (from 20th May to 1st July 2022), teachers can order tickets for themselves and their students to attend the Long Night at a price of 5 EUR per person via firstname.lastname@example.org. You can find all the information here (in German).
Only orders from teachers will be accepted, and tickets will be sent to school addresses. A maximum of two teacher tickets can be booked per student group. The minimum order quantity is seven tickets. Individual tickets will be issued to the students; there is no "group pressure" to attend individual events. There is no surcharge for shipping school group tickets.
