Mir’s paper on ‘Compositional Engineering of Ti3C2Tx MXene-NiMoO4 Hybrid Nanostructures for Enhanced Electrocatalytic Water Oxidation’ was accepted in ACS Applied Energy Materials. Mir was with us for 6 months on a DAAD ERA Green Hydrogen Fellowship. Thank you to DAAD for the funding. Big Congratulations Mir and to all the co-authors.


Azra Şekercioğlu joined the group for an Erasmus plus project from Koç University in Turkey. Azra is working on PEM water splitting. Welcome Azra.

Can’s paper on ‘Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene-Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers’ just got accepted in Advanced Functional Materials. Congratulations to Can and the co-authors.


Sudha joined the group for her masters internship project and thesis from FU Berlin. Sudha is working on CoFe based materials for the OER. Welcome Sudha. 


Can and Basti presented their research at the Colloquium Day of the MatSEC Research School.

Bhargav joined the group for his masters project and thesis from Hochschule Bremerhaven. Bhargav is funded on the Daimler and Benz project. Welcome Bhargav. 


Merve and Michelle were co-authors on a paper in Advanced Energy Materials called ‘Understanding the Metal-Center Mediated Adsorption and Redox Mechanisms in a FeMn(NbTa)2O6 Columbite Material for Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers’. The paper was in collaboration with Dr. Patrick Bacirhonde from Jeonbuk National University in South Korea.

DAAD-Project

Dr. Ahmed Aboubakr has joined our group on a DAAD ERA Green Hydrogen Fellowship as a post-doctoral researcher until December 2026. His project is called ‘Deciphering the Reaction Activity of Metal Hydroxide/Oxide-MXene Heterostructures for Oxygen Evolution from Water Electrolysis to Produce Green H2’. Welcome to the team Ahmed.
