Degradation mechanisms and defect formation of metal halide perovskites

Key experiments in our institute showed the photo-induced dissociation of organic cations in metal halide perovskites, for example, of CH3NH3+ to CH3NH2 and hydrogen under illumination with blue light [1].


Furthermore, high radiation hardness was observed for solar cells based on metal halide perovskites [2] and even healing of defects formed by proton bombardment was detected [3].
