Abstract:
Halide perovskites are considered as one of the most promising material systems for photovoltaic absorbers. With the steep rise in interest, a vast number of compounds that are only vaguely related are being subsumed as perovskite semicon- ductors. The aim of this chapter is to give an overview of the different classes of mate- rials that belong to the halide semiconductors and to give a structural-systematic view of the halide perovskite family and its structural variations. The latter is realized in the form of a Bärnighausen tree alongside and seconded by considerations as to why this classification is important for halide perovskite materials.
