EMIL

Webcam

EMIL is growing: The construction of HZBs new research lab was started in August 2013. The rapid progress of the building is documented by a webcam. A time-lapse movie was recorded from the start.

EMIL, HZBs “Energy Materials In-Situ Laboratory Berlin“ for photovoltaic and catalysis research is attached to the BESSY storage ring hall. A research alliance between HZB and the Max-Planck-Society was established for building this unique infrastructure. A successful transition to renewable energy supply calls for intense interdisciplinary efforts from basic to industry-oriented research for the development of new materials and techniques. In this fields, EMIL will focus on new and improved material systems for photovoltaic devices and catalysts for solar fuel production.
