U17 hard X-ray branch

The tender to hard X-ray branch delivers energies from 700 eV to 10000 eV. The  range from 700 eV to 1800 eV is covered by a standard PGM monochromator and makes use of the very intense U17 1st harmonic. From 2000 eV to 10000 eV a liquid nitrogen cooled Double Crystal Monochromator (DCM) is employed. The two monochromators are alternatively introduced in the beam path depending on which energy range is required.
