PVcomB

Our In-House Process Chain for Tandem Solar Cells

To develop high-efficiency and scalable silicon/perovskite tandem solar cells, full control over the entire process chain is essential. At PVcomB, we have established a complete in-house process chain, covering every step from as-cut silicon wafer preparation to the final tandem device, enabling us to fine-tune each step for maximum performance, stability, and industrial relevance.

Our infrastructure enables:

With deep expertise in wet chemistry, PECVD, and sputtering our team consists of specialists in each field, ensuring optimized deposition, surface treatment, and interface engineering. Our facilities allow us to process silicon heterojunction bottom cells using industry-relevant thin silicon wafers.
For the perovskite top cell, we utilize multiple scalable deposition techniques. Our dedicated PVD group focuses on high-quality vacuum deposition of perovskite materials, ensuring precise control over layer composition, uniformity, and scalability. In the Silicon-Perovskite Baseline group develop and maintain a robust 4 cm² tandem baseline, ensuring long-term stability and enabling outdoor and reliability testing.
In addition to our processing capabilities, we have a comprehensive suite of analytical tools that allow us to thoroughly characterize new innovations while ensuring high quality, reproducibility, and process stability. Our in-house analytics cover structural, optical, electrical, and compositional analysis, providing crucial insights into material properties and device performance.

This unique infrastructure enables us to develop a fully integrated and industrially relevant tandem baseline, ensuring high reproducibility and stability while providing a platform for further material and process innovations.
