School Lab

Internship for Pupils

It is possible to do an internship at the school lab. Please apply via email.

There are no free internship positions for the school year 22/23. We are therefore unable to process any further applications for the period up to and including July 23.

Descripition of an Internship at our School Lab

If you like experimenting and explaining physical phenomena, then an internship in the school lab might be just the right thing for you. As part of the school internship (9th or 10th grade), it is possible to work with us for a two weeks. If the internship period at your school is three weeks, please clarify in advance whether it is possible to split the internship. Unfortunately, school internships of more than two weeks are not possible.

During your internship, you will be assigned to supervise experiment groups and stations on our project days. The topics are solar energy, magnetism, superconductivity, research inot materials, light and colours. The daily work includes the preparation and follow-up of the project days, as well as the maintenance and, if necessary, further development of our experiments, where you can also set your own focus. Finally, a smaller part of the internship is made up of various office tasks such as writing, laminating, etc. You will get an insight into the infrastructure of the HZB during a tour of the campus.

Please state in your application which of the two locations of our school labs (Wannsee or Adlershof) you are applying for or whethere it doesn't matter to you.  However, it is possible to visit the other location.
