School Lab

Light and Colours

maximum of 28 participants
grades 5 and 6: 9 am till 1 pm

How are the many different colours on a display created? And how are they produced in a colour printer? With the help of light mixers and printer ink, the pupils will investigate these questions.

What does white light consist of? What colours are contained in sunlight or in the light of an energy-saving lamp? Using a self-made spectroscope, which the pupils can later take home, different light sources are examined and determined. How the eye perceives colours is explained using dismountable eye models. Here the pupils can also see for themselves that our eyes can sometimes be deceived and are not as reliable as they seem.

There is no prior knowledge required. Please bring your own lunch.
