Visa Information

We strongly recommend that participants requiring a Schengen visa start the application process in their home countries as soon as possible, at least three months before the intended date of travel.

If needed for the visa application, an official invitation letter by HZB will be issued after the registration. For this, please tick the box “invitation needed” when you register. You are required to provide your full name (as shown in your passport) as well as the full name of your institute and its address. If you wish to bring companions, their names (as shown in passport) and their address are needed, too. In some cases HZB has made the experience that sending the original invitation by courier instead of mail is absolutely necessary. In such a case often the courier service asks for an e-mail address or the telephone number of the recipient. Please make sure, when awaiting an invitation, that you provide HZB with your email address and telephone number.
