Magnetic Properties Measurement System (Quantum Design)
The MPMS is a SQUID magnetometer for the temperature range between 2 K and 400 K. With the slow movement of the sample during a measurement cycle, powder samples can be measured with ease - in contrast to the quickly vibrating VSM of the PPMS. An other advantage of the MPMS is the small remnant field of its NbTi superconducting magnet. This makes low field measurements more reliable than in the PPMS.
