Scientific Board (SciBo) of the Graduate Center

SciBo

The SciBo (Scientific Board of the Graduate Center) is responsible for advising the HZB Graduate Center on all topics concerning the supervision and promotion of doctoral researchers @HZB.

The main tasks of the SciBo are:

  • To give impulses for the further development of the scientific direction for doctoral researchers.
  • Advising on the scientific training for doctoral researchers and planning events on interdisciplinary topics (where possible in cooperation with the HZB Research Schools).
  • Consultation in cases of conflict or problems in the context of non-compliance with the HZB Doctoral Guidelines. After the supervision committee and the Graduate Center, the SciBo would be the next escalation level.
  • The further development of the HZB Graduate Center in line with the latest trends for the advancement of early career researchers.

Members of the SciBo

Each scientific division, the HZB DocTeam, as well as the HZB Graduate Center is represented within the SciBo. The SciBo is part of the HZB Graduate Center that coordinates its activities.

Board meetings take place every two months and every representative of a scientific division is nominated for a term of two years.
