Doctorates at HZB
Being a doctoral researcher @HZB means being part of an international, multifaceted research organization that provides access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure and promotes networking and exchange within the Helmholtz Association and beyond.
HZB recognizes the specific needs and requirements relevant to the training of doctoral researchers and accordingly developed guidelines that contain a modern supervision concept. Central parts are transparent conditions for a good and comprehensive supervision as well as manifold measures to gain key competences. A doctorate @HZB aims at the achievement of excellent results under best possible conditions within a reasonable timeframe and at promoting the personal development of doctoral researchers.
Central contact point for all doctoral researchers is the HZB Graduate Center that also offers support for individual career planning.
Doctoral researchers can become a member in one of HZB’s Research Schools. Furthermore, numerous scientific and non-scientific qualification offers and programs are available throughout the whole year.
Doctoral degrees are conferred by HZBs partner universities according to their specific regulations. The university is usually chosen by the affiliation of the main supervisor.
Positions for doctoral researchers are regularly published on HZB's website.
