Instruments and Laboratories
QM-ADT operates state-of-the-art measurement setups at the Wannsee Campus and an X-ray scattering instrument at the large scale facility BESSY II. As part of QM-ADT's core activity in thermoelectric material research, extensive laboratory infrastructure has been established on the Lise-Meitner campus in Berlin-Wannsee: Two new laboratories provide a coherent suite of measurement apparatus for thermoelectric material characterization.
Instruments and laboratories are designated to foster the in-house research on energy conversion materials within the Helmholtz Research Programme Energy Efficiency, Materials and Resources (EMR). They are further integral part of our responsibility to provide external users access to a versatile research infrastructure.
Instruments for energy material research:
- PEAXIS: End-station for Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering (RIXS) and Angular Resolved X-ray Photoelectron Emission Spectroscopy (ARPES)
Laboratories for energy material research:
- Laboratory for thermoelectric material synthesis and compaction (part of the Helmholtz Energy Materials Foundry, HEMF)
- Laboratory for thermoelectric material characterization and transport measurements
