Characterisation (SCALA) Lab

In the sample characterization laboratory several instruments will be located for sample preparation and analysis.

This laboratory offers the possibility to explore physico-chemical properties of samples by synchrotron light independent characterization techniques.

The planned available equipment for preparation consist of:

  • Flow box for advanced preparation procedures
  • Toolbox for sample mounting
  • Microspot welding
  • Soldering station

While for the characterization of samples the planned equipment is :

  • Atomic force microscope
  • Optical microscope
  • 4 point probe
  • Solar simulator
  • Profilometer
  • Seebeck setup
  • Magneto-Optic Kerr Effect Setup
  • UV/Vis-Spectrometer
  • External Quantum Efficiency measurement system (located outside the EMIL-building)
  • X-ray diffractometer
